This week's Teaparty is for our very own resident Teapotter, DonnaJeanne. DonnaJeanne is one of the loveliest ladies you will ever know!! I hope our cards bring some sunshine to DonnaJeanne and her husband.
Our challenge is to bring lots of colour and as a bonus a 3-D element (of the fly away variety) will ensure extra cookies......ok, I miss out on the cookies but I hope I made up for it with colour.
I recently purchased a couple of Lavinia digi stamps and I printed them on normal photocopy paper to store in my folder. I printed off a few extra by mistake so I picked up my pencils to see what colours I would use when I printed it on proper cardstock.
Drum roll....I never did print it onto proper cardstock; this house is just normal everyday photocopy paper. All the initial colouring was done with the Prismacolour pencils; they have a lovely soft waxy finish.
I then used my Spectrum Noir markers over the top of the pencils. To make the house look a bit weathered, I lightly rubbed my walnut stain foam blending tool over the top.
The background was from my stash, it was a strange pinky-purplish grey colour. I scrubbed on some brighter purple, green and orange distress inks to match the house, then added a few trees and stenciled on some white paint.
Out of the corner of my eye I spotted my "friendÂ’s dictionary page" background stamp. I inked it up with ground espresso distress ink, lightly sprayed the stamp with water, stamped it lightly onto a scrap of paper, then I did the secondary stamping straight onto the card. You can't really read it, but it does add an interesting layer.
I fussy cut the house and using a glue stick I adhered it to the card. I used a grey marker and a fine micron pen to outline the house and give a 3D feel. I drew some cobblestones and added a doodled border.
When this is completely dry I will add it to a white card base. I used clear Wink of Stella on some parts of the house, sorry it doesn't photograph well. I had a heap of fun making this, especially knowing it was going to DonnaJeanne. This is one of those cards that you have to make a conscious decision to walk away and stop adding stuff LOL.
Have a lovely week everyone and thank you for looking.

You are such an amazing artist, Susie. who doesn't love your wonderful creations? I can't believe anyone would be so foolish not to stop by to take in everything your cards always have on them. This is wonderful. DonnaJean and DH will really love this one, just like everyone else.

WOW! Thank goodness I stopped in the gallery today! Unbelievable! The background the house- all of it. Your description was fascinating. Never did try alcohol ink over pencil and what a fabulous effect! After all that you added you even preserved your highlights so perfectly! Equally amazing is how you forced the background and the house to match! Oh my gosh, this is creativity at it's finest! Talk about talent!

How lucky can I get...I just took a quick look in the gallery and you had just posted this absolutely amazing work of art. Every little detail is exceptional. The collors are so rich and gorgeous, the script bg is just perfect, the white highlights down the front of the house look fantastic, and the white added to the bg looks sensational. This is one of those cards that everyone looks at and wishes they coukd make. Faved and pinned.

Wow, Susie!! I am in awe over this gorgeously colored magical house, backyard, and the remaining surroundings! I keep staring at this, enjoying all the little details, and there are plenty. I can imagine going inside the fantastic door, go upstairs, and look out that gorgeous window at all the remarkable surroundings! I want to wait on my friend to arrive, at which point I would say, "Hello, friend"! Wow, I could get so lost in this piece of art! Got to come back to earth! Your artwork is so magnificent, Susie, and it brings such joy to the viewers. Hugs, my special friend!

This, my friend, is pure magic! I keep looking for a fairy to peek out the window or door. Love the coloring, text bg and the Susie Special doodling that makes your artwork so incredibly creative. Another winner, DonnaJeanne and her hubbie will definitely be cheered when this arrives!

Splash...Bang...Smash...Spritz...Rub-a-Dub..........Susie's back at work!!! And I'm glad you are! I just LOVE this! What a Marvelous creation! What great coloring! I love the oranges and greens and purples! But I can't believe there isn't a Delightful little fairy or a Crazy Bird that morphed into something extraordinary inside that Beautiful house or maybe stashed behind it. It's my guess you really struggled with wondering if you should include one of them on this card. This little house Sparkles even without the Wink. The Wonderful little world you created around it just draws me into it. Anne is right! There are so many little discoveries to be found in your Amazing creations. I just love it!
