The Technique Lover's Challenge today involves an old technique brought back to us by Judy (StampingQueenJAR), who is hosting the challenge. The technique is call "reverse masking", which is an old technique that Judy is making new again. You can see a tutorial here: Tuesday Tutorial #3 {1-24-12} Basic Reverse Masking by bfinlay at Splitcoaststampers. Great technique, Judy!
For the card, I used the SU Stars Dies to create a mask that I placed over my solar white card stock and sponged SU Real Red ink in the form of a star. I then stamped the SU "Courage" stamp and sentiment in SU Brilliant Blue ink over the star. To add something extra, I added red and blue brushos to give the appearance of fireworks!
Happy July 4th to the US crafters! God bless the USA!

Oh my, Bev, this is really outstanding. I'll have to check that tutorial out. Added to your technique is a profound sentiment. I've never seen that, but it is so appropriate to July 4. Glad to see you're coming back gradually and without missing a beat, girl.
