Congrats to Lisa, the newest Featured Stamper! I chose THIS card to case. I kept the western Howdy theme & basic layout, but I used different images, different papers & sponged my background.
The ivory image panel was first die cut, placed in my Misti, then I masked the very edges of it & sponged the pink inks from the bottom up, leaving the ivory at the very top. The silhouette was then stamped on top (a couple of times for full coverage) w/ Versafine. I used a Micron pen to give the cowboy a more “feminine” silhouette & add a ponytail.
The roses on the side are part of the designer paper & I used a craft knife to cut around them & lift them above the panel. I used a gold Wink of Stella pen to add the gold highlights. The ribbon was die cut using the Small Bow & glued into shape w/ an old gold button added on top. The little belt loop strips were made by die cutting a piece of ivory w/ the smallest Double Stitched Rectangle, then moving the end down in 1″ increments.
Congrats again, Lisa! Closeups & the inside are on my blog: The Write Stuff

I love how you masked the main layer and sponged the pink ink making it lighter and lighter until you got to the top. It's such a perfect background for your image. The flowers and ribbon are such a perfect match for each other and such a perfect embellishment for the cowgirl theme. I love it!

How clever to make the rider into the perfect cowgirl! The pink shading is so effective with the silhouette. I have some lovely stamps that would be used if I had a misti and managed coverage like you achieved.... onto the birthday list I think! Your different elements have made a beautiful creation Julie.

Gorgeous pink sunset, Julie. When we lived in NorCal, many times there would be sunsets just like this. It was sad, though, to learn it was caused by the smog. Great card.
