Finishing off a project I started for the Mixability Challenge where Marilyn had us playing with a water color technique called watercolor lifting. Believe it or not I was trying for purple as I combined some watercolors from tubes. When my color wound up brown I thought going woodgrain would work. For the technique you paint a piece of paper and let it dry. Then emboss in clear ep. Final step is to remove some of the color. I kept it simple with a diecut banner that I folded over twine. With this die you end up with a neat leftover row of small triangles and since my dp was 2sided, I was able to flip it over for a coordinating pattern. I popped this banner. I embossed my sentiment and threaded the ends into my banner punch to notch my ends.

Wow, that woodgrain looks amazing. I am glad that it turned out brown instead of purple like you were going for because this is fantastic. Makes me want to give woodgrain a try. Thanks for playing along with my challenge.
