I struggled with this challenge. I didn't want to admit that making cards was my absolute favorite. But it is. Not just any kind of card though. My favorite is making cards from scraps or discarded die cuts. I rarely plan out a card ahead of time. I just keep pulling things out of the scrap box to use, and when it ends up looking good to me, I add finishing touches and stop. Today the finishing touch was to ink the edges.
After working at the family business for 33 years I am recently retired and am blessed to be able to make more cards without rushing, tearing out a few hairs and then pitching the card anyway because I am not happy with it.
I am very thankful to all of you who have given me such nice comments on the cards I "uploaded anyway" when the rush was on.
I DO make cards that don't use scraps or discarded dies, but that's not my favorite way to create.

Oh I love this card and it is ok to admit that your favorite thing to do is stamp! I love the Canadian Maple leaves and the bird and flower on the one! Your sponged ink on the edges tops it all off! Great color scheme. Thanks for playing!

Well, I think it is awesome that you can make cards out of scraps and discarded die cuts! My boxes are full of discarded items that I thought would work for something and didn't. So I know how rewarding it is when we can use some of those things. I love where you stopped with this card. Inking the edges was just the right finishing touch!

I luv the dotty leaf and matching dotty sentiment. You do a great job of pulling scraps together. This is the perfect place to confess our luv of card making as a number one hobby. It's still my favorite pastime. Congrats on joining those of us lucky enough to be retired! Hope you have many, many years of enjoyment.

I love the way you have matched the dotty sentiment with the dotty leave too. The maple leaves really caught my eye in the gallery. Just wish I could "recycle" the way you do - it would solve the problem of the rapidly enlarging "scrap" box.

I like how you stamped your image on that leaf and used dp for the other one. We sure are blessed, aren't we?! We have tons of supplies so that we can create cards to make others happy. Great stress reliever, too! I KNOW!!!

Beautiful card! I like to make cards from the scraps and discards, too. It's fun to make something out of "nothing", so to speak. Love what you did on this card today with the polka-dot leaf and die-cut word. Nicely done. TFS
