Well I started taking an on line watercolor class and have been watching lots of videos in an attempt to get more comfortable with this medium. I have spent the last few days playing with my different watercolor mediums and mostly not being happy with the results. One paper pilled when I tried to do watercolor washes and I generally was not thrilled by the way the colors blended. But Saturday I got a set of artist quality watercolors and this is my first attempt to work with them. I love the way they blend and move. I can get soft washes or brilliant color. I have hope. This technique is from a video from Scraps and Stamps. I heat embossed my greeting with black embossing powder and then used a small watercolor brush to add clean water around the image to form a burst pattern. I then added watercolor in different shades going across the greeting. When it was all dry I added some sequins. I love the look! Groovy!

Wow, lovely rainbow background. Thanks for the tip on papers. I haven't tried it yet, so that tip might be handy for me since I don't know the quality of the papers I have bought over the years.
