A birthday card for a special friend. I should have made something baking related as she's a keen cook, but I wanted to have a try at using a second colour of paper to colour the bench in this pop-up die.
Cut and folded the bench panel.
Cut an extra bench only out of DP and stuck it on.
Made two background pieces - the trees are misted with homemade mister, and I added a few little birds. For the foreground I laid down a stencil, sprinkled with Brushos and misted. When dry I embossed the sentiment.
Tip - to get full backgrounds, I created a template using the half of the bench panel - I embossed the die into it, and just cut out two slits where the sides of the bench are. This serves as a template for cutting out DP or backgrounds - you can retain the little cut-out tab pieces from you background and stick them back in place when you add the card front. Hard to explain, but if you have and try the die, I think you'll understand what I am saying. And since a picture is worth a thousand words, I've added a couple of pictures showing what I mean in THIS POST in a thread where this die was being discussed.

Fabulous card! Love how you created this...so nicely done. You have also inspired me to give this a try...I have a new bench stamp (not been used yet, and a similar background stamp (also not been used yet) Thanks for sharing and the inspiration.
