Today's sketch challenge SC588, hosted by Carey aka cpayette, was fun! Great job Carey!! This card is my submission for the challenge.
I was undecided about how to approach the challenge initially. I couldn't decide if I wanted to use designer series paper or not, and if so, where in the design. Then I found in my cabinet an OLD SU designer series paper (i.e., Sweet & Sour) and I knew the answer to the question I was pondering. To me, this paper is so pretty with Rose Red and Pumpkin Pie as the main colors. You can't see it in the photo, but the paper comes with one side of all the designs embossed.
I then decided I wanted a floral image on the card and decided on the Hibiscus stamp from the SU Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. I have many beautiful Hibiscus bushes in my yard, so they are special to me. Not my favorite flower, but special.
I used the swirly stamp from Everything Eleanor to create my stem after masking the flower. To give the image a little something extra, I used Rose Red and Pumpkin Pie Candy Dots and included two bees.
I hope you enjoy the card, and thanks for looking and leaving a comment!!
