Hello there. I made this card for my design team work at the Paper Craft Crew. Below is a description of how I made this card and a full product list. Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today and have a great day. Please visit my blog at Cindy B Designs for many other cards and projects!
I decided to combine a what I love card with a friendship card using products from the new Spring 2016 Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration. Those little Honeycomb Embellishments are adorable and have so many possibilities. I used mine in the most obvious way on an ice cream cone. I also used my absolute favorite designer series paper of Birthday Bouquet.
To start, my card base is a Soft Suede A2 side-folding card. I cropped in from the right side about 3/4". I adhered the DSP directly onto my card front and rounded the corners. Using the Tags & Labels Framelits, I die-cut the two largest scalloped dies of each set that you receive in the package. The largest was die-cut from Mint Macaron card stock, partially stamped (stamp surgery) with the "So Sweet" sentiment from the Honeycomb Happiness Sale-A-Bration stamp set with Soft Suede ink and then heat embossed using clear embossing powder. Lastly, I ran this panel through the Big Shot using the Softly Fallen embossing folder to the sentiment. I only placed my cutting plate to the edge of where I wanted to dry emboss so no pressure was exerted onto my sentiment while going through the Big Shot.
My second scallop panel was die-cut with water color card stock. I then coated the water color card stock with my Embossing Buddy. I colored directly onto the ice cream cone image from Honeycomb Happiness using a Soft Suede marker on the cone portion and a Watermelon Wonder marker for the ice cream scoop. I had to do this twice to get a really good impression due to the nature of the water color card stock and direct-to-stamp coloring. I then sprinkled clear embossing powder over the entire image and heat set it. I used several shades of brown to color the cone portion and Watermelon Wonder and Blushing Bride for the ice cream cone; all using my Aqua Painter. I heat set the image for a few seconds and adhered the Blushing Bride Honeycomb Embellishment to the ice cream cone. I then added another favorite product of mine, the It's My Party Enamel Dots, to the corner of the image panel in Mint Macaron.
I adhered the Mint Macaron tag to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals and angled the image panel on top with Snail and a Stampin' Dimensional at the top. I used a gold Mini Metallic Clothespin to attach the image panel with a strip of Blushing Bride Sequin Trim.
For the inside of my card. I used two sentiments from the Bloomin' Love stamp set stamped with Soft Suede ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I like to do this with most of my cards for dimension and the extra shine that it provides. I found a heart lying on my desk and adhered it under the sentiment with a Glue Dot, although a heart punched out or die-cut using the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper would have looked so pretty. I lined the right outer portion with another piece of DSP from Birthday Bouquet, rounded the edges and placed 3 more It's My Party Enamel Dots in Mint Macaron in the lower right corner. This DSP panel covers the entire length and width of the card so that when the card is closed, the DSP is matched up.
One last mention is that I used the Wink of Stella pen to color in the cone portion of the image and the Blushing Bride Honeycomb Embellishment, as well as the heart on the inside of the card.
