I have been practicing with alcohol inks...super messy. I was just about to put this piece that I made over the weekend into the box of orphans...things I make that I don'T have a card to use them on...when I saw the CAS challenge to use chipboard. I don'T have any chipboard, so I glued several die cut leaf branches together. Note to self...use less intricate die cuts if you plan to glue them together. Once I got through the hissy fit from the gluing fiasco, I thought about the TLC challenge to use fancy paper piercing. I used a sewing needle and followed the ink lines with piercing. To add a little more definition I used a very tiny sponge aplicator and went over the holes. After using up all my patience this morning piercing and gluing, I am lucky not to have injured and of my patients (I am a dental hygienist).

Oh, ha, I know what you mean about gluing fussy shapes together but it looks great! And piercing along the different colour gradient lines was genius.
It's rained all day here - my coat is dripping over the bath, DH's bike gear is making puddles all over the floor in the back room and this "Francie" riot of colour is a joy to behold. Even if there is a little bit of rainy grey in the top corner ;-). You make me want to get out my alcohol inks and play!!

I love your riot of color and texture, Francie! I'm also amazed that you manage to get cards made before you go to work. I always felt very accomplished to have gotten out of bed and dressed before I left ;)

He,he. Hi! This is beautiful Francie! Glad you still had a steady hand after all the piercing and gluing! I was just looking at the papers you sent me ages ago. I have decided that it is time to maybe part with a few pieces. I'll start with small ones.

This is Amazing!!!!! You are a very Brave Person! I admire your gung ho approach to creating the faux chipboard. It all turned out Fantastically! What a stroke of Brilliance that paper piercing idea was! And those colors just jumped out and grabbed me by the nose and shouted "Look at ME!". So I did....and I LOVE it! It's Beautiful!

The intense colors on this are just amazing!! And I love how you added the piercing to your vivid layers. The faux chipboard turned out great although I bet it was difficult using such an ornate die cut and gluing them. Kudos for all your patience on this beauty!!

So you finally got over your hissy fit? That didn't last long, thank heavens. If it had, I might not have had the great privilege of seeing this incredibly creativity. I'm totally overwhelmed with your alcohol inks. This is a one of a kind work of art right here in the SCS gallery. Can I come over and play with your inks? I don't play well in the sand box, but I promise I will that day. What an artist you are.
You've really been blessed. Hugs

Francie, this absolutely stunning! The splash of fantastic colors just jumps right off the page! The piercing following the fun twists and turns is the perfect finishing touch!
