The background is inked with Distress ink then I stenciled over that with water and while still wet, rubbed another shade of Distress ink over that.

The panel was inked by colouring directly onto the stamp with markers, sprayed with water and stamped.

Your card is lovelier than the cake IMO, Karen. The watercolored feeling is SO well done and I'm ALWAYS amazed how many hues and values of blue you create within your design. OUTSTANDING! Have a great time with your "retail therapy" today...wish I could join you! ; ) Hugs, S
