I am not a "journal-er", so I went with option 1. I have been taking a watercolor online class and learned this technique for creating a beach scene: making a trail of masking fluid to create the separation of beach and water and then watercoloring. When dry, remove masking fluid. I added white acrylic paint with a stiff brush for the texture on the ocean. Gulls are die cut and then some shading added to wings with a colored pencil and orange copic for the beak. Sentiment is embossed in white. I scored 3 lines on the navy cs for added interest.

Fabulous! I love the way you made the card from the seagulls' perspective. And what a great idea to use the masking fluid to make the separation between water and sand - it looks like the foamy part of the water lapping on the sand.

STUNNING design! I love the scene and it truly captures the spirit of your inspiration piece, yet it brings something brand new to the table reflecting your own personal style! WOW! Inspiration genius!
