I saw a video on Kristina Werner's blog showing a light watercolored background and white embossing, then pulling in more color on the flowers so I had to try it and this is my first attempt but I will be using this technique again. The triangle on the lower left corner is actually embossed vellum but it is difficult to tell that it is vellum.

Thank you for pointing out the vellum. I love the affect it gives. Your card is lovely and you being inspired, has inspired me. I will be digging out one of my big blossomed flower 'girls' to give that a try.
Lovely use of the sketch and watercolor.

Oh my goodness, this is just gorgeous! I actually thought the flower panel was also embossed vellum, colored from the back ~ had to look more closely after reading your description. Straight into my faves!
