"Summer used to mean long dreamy evenings for us. The children would all be asleep by 6:00 PM and if Sebek was still holding on we would simply play a game of croquet on the lawn and then heÂ’d follow his sisters to bed. We would have relaxing picnics in the side of the lawn (out of view from the upstairs bedrooms) with chilled fruit wines and lay back to watch the dragonflies swimming in the air above us."
If you look really hard you can see a muffled image of some outdoor children's toys on the top of the photo just to the right of the journalling.. how's that for hidden photojournalism? ;)
Scanning this one isn't a perfect match, not only was a little bit cut off from the edges, but a lot doesn't scan. I have smeared intereference reinkers across the entire background paper (Opalites, using a pan scraper tool and working on the Ranger Non-Stick Craft Mat, any ink that went over the edge could simply be scraped up and added to the page!) that both color the page and give it a shimmer, this simply doesn't compute for the scanner though :( I did go over the computer printing with a Ranger Cut n Dry Nib loaded with the matching Distress Inks, so in real life, the text is very legible!

Thank you all! I have to admit that I had a song fully stuck in my head... "Gordon's Gardenparty" by The Cardigans and had been dwelling on picnics from Summers past and even held a mini picnic the day before. So, it was all fresh in my mind, but of course no photos of the picnics... just of some flowers and bugs at the same time of year and it seemed the flowers would work best!
I love these flowers because they tend to come back all on their own! With our allergies we just can't tend a garden like we'd love to... so plants like these are wonderful! They draw the most lovely butterflies and bees to them and are just so nice to see on their own!
