it's a party! Fun challenge today, Toni...pet sitters. Looking in my stash, I can see a gap of images of domestic critters and a valid excuse for shopping! However, I did have some of the crazy birds gifted to me by tessaduck. I've been intimidated to use one (seeing all the fantabulous cards in the galleries!). But just call me crazy, I am going to join you!!!
Practicing with stencils as well, I created a forest to place that crazy bird into. Quite a nest he's got there as well. The balloons are carrying him away...away to home in OrEgOn. The party is waiting till the birthday fella arrives...it's almost here. {27}.
The nest was stamped twice, embossed with the coarse Tim Holtz ep. I wanted to use twine for the balloon strings with them padding the nest as well.
The forest background was stenciled with Brushos I mixed with Gesso. It was all a grand experiment. Being a not 'fussy' gurl, I kinda of like the freedom of mixed media. I used Palette Knives applying the colors. The use of the 'tall' card, done so well by our own susie australia was my inspiration to work on a larger 'canvas'.
Thanks for stopping by. We can't wait for the arrival of our own kidlet who has flown the coup.

Gorgeous background, Susan. Well, a gorgeous card all over, but the woody background is so well done. I love the mix of colours at the top. And the nest is great too - looks almost like a little Irish flag tucked in there ;-).

How fun, and so creative, as always! The mix of gesso and Brushos was a great idea - the background is wonderful. Glad to know there's someone else intimidated by all the fantastic crazy birds, mine haven't seen ink yet. Yours turned out perfectly for the theme,, I love those googly eyes!

Goodness! What's it like to be a "not fussy" girl. I just love the way you padded your nest here. What a comfy homemaker! Great forest and I sure do like the pop of color the balloons make. Perfect for a party.
