For today's Wildlife Adventure MIX challenge from Anna. Hurrah for a day when at last I only felt 50% like going to bed when I got home from work; I let the 50% that wanted to come upstairs and play rule the day. Especially because I have been wanting all month to play along with the current Serendipity Stamps challenge, which is "anything goes", and I've had this elephant sitting waiting all month on my desk.
So...thanks to the early post I made a headstart with the texture element of Anna's challenge, and stencilled the bamboos with modelling paste. Home from work, and I sprayed the card with homemade misters in green, blue and yellow. When it was dry, I used the TH sunray stencil and some gold Brusho acrylic mist to add some rays of sun shining through the bamboos, and then I edged the panel with brown acrylic paint.
For the elephant, first I used Pumice Stone smooshed onto misted watercolour paper, and then after drying it, I added more colour with pencils and fussy-cut him. The balloon was stamped on white card with Versamark, embossed with gold, and then sponged with black to accentuate the lettering. I tied some fine gold floss around the balloon and the elephant's trunk, and then added them to the card. The balloon is popped up on foam tape.
Oh -after all the misting, I put the stencil back over the bamboo and rubbed some Craft-T metallic rub-ons to give them a coppery shine.

That background is truly a work of art! Nicely done. And what a sweet little elephant image...glad you were finally able to use it! It was clearly worth the wait! tfs

Well, weren't we channeling each other today, my friend (bamboo stencil, elephant, birthday!). I love that adorable little ellie, and your golden tones to compliment the modeling paste! Are we really twins separated at birth, do you think?

Fabulous bamboo bg for your cute baby elephant, Sabrina. You always give such thorough descriptions of how you have created your cards. (Glad you are feeling somewhat better).
