I was deeply inspired by the photo on the top of the page link here. It shows the wallpaper staged in a living room. I just loved the contrast of the yellow plant with the grey stripes: http://totalwallcovering.com/c14/stripes-wallpaper.aspx
I ended up doing 3 cards from this inspiration during the week, so I'm uploading my favorite of the three because I have 1 other card I want to share with you later. LOL
The How.....Unfortunately, I didn't have any striped patterned paper so I had to make my own. On this card I used textured paste and a little bit of distressed black crayon through a striped stencil to create the corner stripes, and then used glimmer mist to blend them out. This way I could stamp on it and add the yellow floral element without adding more layers.
I really enjoyed working through this! This is what I love about the inspiration challenge. No matter what your original "vision" is when you pick your image - it usually comes out much better, and totally surprises you, once you have worked through the design on paper! Gotta love that!
Hugs,
Audrie

This is truly beautiful! I love your cas style. I have never used texture paste before, but I have seen so many other stampers use it. And, it always looks so good. No exception here, I love the depth it achieved and the contrast from one corner to the other! The gold leaf really tops it off perfectly! I just bought some gold glimmer mist the other day. I have never used it and I haven't had time to try it yet. I am anxious for early next week because that is when I'll have more time to be in my craft room. This will definitely be a fav. for me!

You create the richest cards....how clever to use the paste only part way so you could add the sentiment. The mixing of the mist with the crayon really added a shadow effect. Thanks for your detailed deets on how you do these neat techniques. TFS
