The Technique Challenge (TLC572) today involves a pleated skirt made of paper. The instructions were not hard, I just made it harder on myself because of orientation of my image..so I had to reverse the side of the pleat & make it shorter to fit.
After I stamped, colored & die cut Paddy Bear, I colored a narrow cut off piece w/ the same green Copics & added it to the upper right. I used a piece of the marigold c/s to make my pleated skirt. It's attached to a piece of white on the reverse side & I stamped it w/ little shamrocks using the marigold ink. I also used a dot embossing folder & curved border die to cut most of the lower edge. The two ribbons were also colored to match & attached on top of the pleated skirt. A little Wink of Stella was added to all the shamrocks.
Thanks so much for looking! Closeups & Copic colors are on my blog: The Write Stuff

this is just the sweeeeeetest St. Pat's day card....love the pleating detail....I started a card with a double pleat, but couldn't decide how to add an image....so it sits waiting for inspiration......the coloring is spot on (of course) and the detail work is fabulous

So cute!!! I like the way you switch the pleats on the other side.

Your bear is so beautifully coloured! I love the way you made his fur look fuzzy! I really like the way you stepped up the pleated fold and made it work for your image and layout. It looks wonderful embossed. This is a fantastic card!

Julie, I love your design! I like the pleats better the way you folded them and added an additional pleat. The embossing on the "skirt" and its curved edge is very attractive. I was thinking this morning that if I used the technique again I would fold it differently. So glad you did! I'm quite impressed with your coloring of the Patty Bear's fur. That's difficult, or at least I find it to be. The card is outstanding! TFS!
