This week I have the honor of Guest Designing at the One Layer Christmas Challenge, which will begin Tuesday morning 7:00 Pacific Time. The challenge is always Anything Goes (one layer, of course). I masked off the border of the card front with blue painter's tape and then used masking and sponging to create the snowdrifts and sky (ala Heather Telford techniques), and stamped my new Christmas Cottage stamp, the trees and the sentiment. I spattered diluted white acrylic paint for the snow (lots of it) and colored the cottage with Zig Real Color Markers. Love the part when I peel off the moon mask and the border mask - SO fun!

You have added such depth and beauty to this one layered card. I may have to join in on that challenge this week. I love to get a few Christmas cards done each month to be ahead of the game.

Your sky background is absolutely GORGEOUS, Maura! I love the soft pastels and how you created your 'Winter Wonderland' scene on this card...Just beautiful in every way!

Outstanding. I can see why you've been asked to be the guest designer for this challenge. What took them so long to ask you? What you've created here is nothing less than gorgeous. Everything is soft, beautiful and perfectly executed, Maura.
