When my cardmaking creativity isn't there, I turn to Paper embroidery.
I had a few pieces of watercolor paper that had already been blotted with the white pearl paint, instead of using the distress inks on it, I used the Lumiere paints by putting several drops onto my mat, adding water and swirling around. You then get the fun and messy part, smooshing the paper into the paints. The two techniques make for some beautiful backgrounds.
The pattern for this is from a book that is in another language. I can't read it, but I can decipher from the diagrams.
