The current Serendipity Stamps challenge is Stripes. I decided to colour this stamp ( I just did chalkboard with it last time I used it) and create a striped background.
So - for the background I scored solid card at 1/2" intervals, and added 3/8" strips of paper in colours which picked up on those I had used to colour the jars. After making this piece, I embossed it with TE Weathered ef and sponged lightly with some brown ink.
Image stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with Inktense pencils. After consulting with DH, we both thought that the jars with stuff in them are probably meant to be oil infused with herbs - so I tried to make them look like olive oil and added Glossy Accents to the bottles. For the other two, I thought they could be pottery and I used Crackle Accents, rubbing over them with luster rub-ons when it was dry, to accent the crackles. One of the jars on my desk is an old pottery marmalade jar, the glaze is totally crazed.
To finish, I added some cork ivy leaves and 3 black brads. I'll possibly add a sentiment tag when I know where this is going.

Couldn't see this from my notification link, so I went to your gallery to find it, and boy, am I glad I did - definitely a rustic delight in so many different ways! Like how the result of a consult with DH gave you more ideas, and you even coordinated your colors with the BG strips!! Awesome!

I love that your DH joins in, it always makes me smile! Your card is fabulous Sabrina. The colour selection is terrific and I love your stamped and coloured images. I just scrolled back for another look - wow so much brilliant work my friend.

Oh would I love to sit by you in your attic when you creat. This looks amazing and must be even more stubendeous in person. Any regular person would have just colored those jars...but you turned each one into a masterpiece. I just love how this turned out. The bg hand made stripped paper is the perfect match for your beautiful kitchen image.
