We live just a few miles from the Phoenix Park, which is one of Europe's biggest walled city parks, enclosing an area of 1752 acres. The park was established in 1662 by one of the British Viceroys, as a deerpark. To this day it still contains a managed herd of deer. The old Viceregal residence is now where the President lives, and just across from that is the American ambassador's residence. You will also find the zoo, cricket and polo grounds and much more besides.
The last time we took my mother-in-law for a drive there on a Sunday, the young males were play-fighting, and we could hear the clashing of their antlers as we sat in the car and watched them.
If you're interested, I have quite a lot of posts on my blog tagged with "Phoenix Park" - and this one is especially interesting as it shows them harvesting the grass and making hay. The grass is allowed grow during the fawning season; in autumn they harvest it, and in winter it provides fodder for the deer if needed. Link to the official Phoenix Park website
Base embossed with SU ef, trees rubbed with white crayon, then I misted the background with a homemade blue spray, and used Kittie Kits Garden Master to stamp some foliage with Forest Moss.
For the grass, it's all Core-dinations - the bottom layer is embossed and sanded, the other two layers are crumpled and sponged with Forest Moss. IO deer, sponged with distress inks.
The tree is a RAK from shailiekat, I sponged it with distress inks and embossed the top layer.
Sentiment from a Unity set (just for you), and I cut it with a Verve banner die, embossed it to match the base. Edges stitched, sentiment popped up on foam.

Sabrina, thanks for the wonderful facts about this amazing park. I always think it's a good day when learning something new. The website is a fantastic idea...thanks. Your card is lovely....the deer are very regal...the added white spots makes for a very realistic fawn. Tfs.

Sounds like a fascinating place, Sabrina....as is your card! If I were to cross the "Ocean Blue", Ireland is definitely one place I would love to visit....but, I am a coward and terrified of the ocean..even flying over it! In my dreams!

Sabrina, I love reading about your corner of the globe. This park sounds amazing and you did an incredible job representing it on this darling card. I can only imagine seeing the deer and them play fighting with their antlers. Super card and thank you for sharing a bit of your corner of the globe.

A deer park - how wonderful! I've never been to Ireland, though my best friend is from Achill Island on the blustery west coast. Your card and description are wonderful ... could almost hear the clashing of antlers!
