Sometimes my cards take me on adventures. This was certainly one of them. When I received the image from Imke I thought it would be nice if I had some silk fabric to cut for the dress. Into the fabric scrap box and nothing. So, brain storm, just cut out the dress parts and lay the image over some nice patterned paper. I had a stack of the Far East papers so lots of choices. I was thinking to mask and some sort of bamboo background. But, no stamps that look anything close to bamboo, but some nice florals in the Far East papers, so cutting away I make a nice frame, which includes the bonus challenge of a lantern. But it won't work behind the image because I already cut out the dress parts, now if I cut the rest off I only have air left...what to do. Well, as Imke said, the image is large, so you cannot see the model's face behind the screen. So, me thinks, this is now a mystery for sure, maybe vellum like a rice paper screen-that's oriental. Well, that only looks like fog, no good. And still, what to do with the woman? She has a nice dress, but no background. (see interior for details on that dilemma) Eventually I came back to finish the card and settled on the black cardstock with an oval "window" to the interior scene.

Sonja, your card is gorgeous. I love all the thought you put into this scrumptious scene. Your card made me think of the ancient legend in Chinese lore of the lady that lives on the moon. My grandmother used to tell me and it made me feel sad for the lady and I'd always look up in the sky at night time. http://imdiversity.com/villages/asian/a-story-of-the-moon-lady/
My grandmother may have changed the story to teach me the moral of not to be too self absorbed and think of only my needs, i.e. be greedy. Or else I too could be banished to the moon.
Your gorgeous screen to hide the lovely lady very well fits this lore with the night time theme, round circle for the moon, the partially hidden lady for those of us on earth trying to get a glimpse of her with the lovely golden tendrils of trees/clouds in the way to block our sight.
