For this week's partial die cut technique challenge. This card has two layers of partial die cuts-- once with the floral oval, which was also embossed into the dark purple cs, and again with a larger oval with the orchid layer.
I used violet and orchid, matching my late December birthday on the CAS challenge color wheel.
I spent Christmas with my niece and her Bernese mountain dog, Opus. Opus' "grandma"--the breeder from whom he was obtained-- had recently passed, and my niece helped to settle the estate. She found many, many Berner mementos, including some tags and postcards, which were used as tags for our Christmas gifts. I saved mine, of course. The dog image was cut from one of those tags. It was an old postcard (10 cents!). Anyway, this is the card that I'll send to my niece and Opus, thanking them for sharing their Christmas with me.

Oh gosh, that's DH's dream dog!! I remember you mentioning Opus before, I feel. Neat work with the layering, Brenda. The embossed floral oval looks especially magnificent.

Love the glorious dog image so beautifully framed! Thank you for sharing your story. I too am in the purple of the colour wheel. Your colours are perfect with the simple black and white. TFS
