I have been so inspired by this weeks Mixability Challenge MIX149 by Dina. I made 7 usable Christmas tags with my backgrounds to attach to trays of krumkake cookie gifts :-) So Fun Dina! TFS your awesome video and Dina Wakely's.
Step 1: Die cut Stitched Tag using Mixed Media Paper.
Step 2: Adding drops of Distress Ink refills and smeared Inka Gold Paste all onto craft mat and liberally spritzed with water. Took a tag and smooshed onto inks. Do the same with all 7 tags adding more spritzed water, ink and paste as needed. Let all tags dry. I mostly air dried and then finished drying with heat tool. Smooshed tags on more spritzed ink and paste. Let dry again.
Step 3: Some tags I used a wet brush to paint Inka Gold Emerald Paste thru stencil. Some tags I added molding paste thru stencils using palette knife. I let all tags dry.
Step 4: Used black permanent ink pen to outline stencil images to make them pop. And used pen to hand draw Joy on all tags.
Step5: Added seam binding and die cut mixed media paper to attach to back of tags to write to and from and short note.
So fun and LOVED the shiny, textured colors. The backgrounds really looked like Faux Mother of Pearl. If only you can see them IRL....
Enjoy and Happy Holidays everyone!

Oh, Nancy, these are fabulous, and I do love the colors and agree with Loll that the outlining is a great touch! You are having such fun with mixed media. I may have to explore that in 2016! Hugs, sweet friend, and thanks for the pm!

These tags are SO vibrant--they BRING joy, as well as announce it. Thanks for describing your process. Remember to save a few of those cookies for yourself and DH.
Wonderful tags, Nancy! I love the blue and green combination and neat stenciled trees! The stitched edges and pear seam binding are great accents! You've really embraced the mixed media style!
