I made this card for the Clean & Simple Challenge, CAS 352 Holiday/Winter Critter 11/23/15. The Challenge was to make a card for any holiday or for use in the upcoming weeks of winter and to use some kind of critter on it.
This is the 3rd card I've made for the challenge, because once I got started, I just couldn't quit making cards with critters!!!!...seriously, I got on a roll and made 3 more after this one. You don't even want to know what my stamp room looks like, I'm just sayin'...
Anyway, the critter of choice for this card was a bird, two birds to be precise. This was a fun card to put together because I got to use several never-used-before items in my stash.
The cattail stamp from Memory Box was fast & easy to ink the rubber with small Memento cube pads. I decided to add sponging after I die cut the stitched rectangle, but I opted to do the sponging while the cardstock was still in the die so that there would be a clean, uncolored portion as a frame. I added a grass die cut made from a scrap of mottled green dp to add a bit of texture and deeper color to the swamp scene.
The sentiment tag was made using a cork tape by Darice. It was easy to stamp on, and easy to hand cut the swallowtail end. I added some SU Linen thread that had been separated into strands for a soft finish for the tag. The wood veneer birds were attached with tiny glue dots.
Thanks for flying by to look at my latest holiday critter card. Hope you have a wonderful day of Thanksgiving!
