This is a fun card for MariLynn's MIX146 Mmmmm Tasty challenge, a mixed media card featuring a dessert.
I know some people say fruit should only be eaten at least two hours before a meal, but it often features as dessert in our house.
I was beginning to think this card wasn't meant to be when I didn't mask off enough of the background first time round and stamped part of the book stack sticking out the side of the apple when I was stamping the worm, and dropped my inked stamp on it the second time round. Third time round I used a much bigger book page and didn't extend the gesso all the way up because I wasn't expecting to use this card shape.
Apple stamped and masked. I added the worm and book stack, which is one single SNSS stamp, and the sentiment which originally says "read a book". I coloured the image with pencils, and then stencilled in some circles with Gelatos. Under the torn edge at the bottom I added part of a map, and along the top I used a stamp from Gorgeous Grunge along with a stamp and franking lines from Tattered Angels. I also stamped the spatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge with white ink over most of the card.
I have a second Dymo label which will go on the map, and has "Visit XYZ" (insert name of recipient) on it, which I will add before mailing. I had fun with my bookworm - but to tell the truth, I am no more enamoured of whatever ate a few old books I have than I am of finding a worm in my fruit.

What a cute card. I love your little worm. My boys and I picked a bunch of apples this fall. There were some worms in the apples. I said I would rather eat an apple that a worm wanted to taste than an apple that was sprayed with poison and waxed so that even the worms said... NO thank you.
