Hello friends and to all the friends here in the U.S., I wish you and your family a Happy Veteran's Day! To those who served our country, we salute you and thank you so much for your service! This is an extra special, important day in our neighborhood. Today, we honor and thanks not only all the men and women who served our country, but our sweet, gentle elderly neighbor, Mr. Bob, a retired Veteran whom we all love and respect. Last night, my kids and I hung this paper plate poppy wreath to his mailbox to surprise him come morning. He will also be receiving special surprise treats from all the kids in the neighborhood throughout the day. It's something that started way before we moved here two years ago. And I think that is such a beautiful tradition to keep. Do you have a special Veteran(s) that you are honoring today?
My kids are between 2 and 7. So I always look for easy fun crafts to do with them that don't required too much of my supervision. I got the idea of making this paper plate poppy wreath from Pinterest though I did add my own twist to it by using coffee filters, dyed with red food color rather than using red paper. I took photos of the project along the way so you can make it too with your family and celebrate with us as we stop to honor and thanks Mr. Bob and all the troops for their service. Here is the link:
Tomorrow I will share a heartfelt Veteran's Day art project that my 7 years old daughter made for Mr. Bob. The image she drew is very special to us American and I think it will touch your heart very much. Hope you'll swing by my Gallery tomorrow to check out her art work.
Thanks so much for stopping by my gallery and for your comment. I appreciate and treasure each and every one of them. Wishing you a lovely day and Happy Veteran's Day to all!

Oh, Christina, to be teaching your children to honor our veterans is a most admirable thing to do as a parent! How precious, and I love this beautiful poppy plate that greeted him today! I am absolutely certain he will be encouraged and feel so loved and honored! Hugs, precious friend (and wonderful mom!).
