This is for Linda's fun and incredibly messy Gold Mediums challenge.
The 4" square watercoloured panel started out life 5" x 7". The flowers were stamped with distress inks and the stems were done ever so carefully with a Zig maker. To watercolour the flower centres I used various shades of pink, orange and yellow distress re-inkers...................then I knocked over the water that the brushes were standing in.........and yes of course, I had taken the lids off the reinkers!!!
What happened next was reminiscent of the time I spilt the bottle of Pomegranate Dylusions ink spray in my lap - my downstairs lady bits glowed in the dark for weeks and weeks. I digress, I cleaned up the mess, that's 4 hours of my life I will never get back.
To cut a long story short, after this had dried the flowers and stems were not longer distinguishable, I cut it down to 4" square - the bits I cut off looked like a scene from CSI. The back of the watercolour paper looked better than the front, so here it is complete with white paint flicks, gold twine and gold die-cut.
I channeled my inner Sabrina aka Cook22 to add gold around the edges. I did this with Viva 3D gold paint.
Thanks for looking. I am going to have a little lay down now.

You are hilarious! I laughed out loud more than once. I hope the lay down helped and your 'lady bits' return to normal soon. Your card is gorgeous, BTW!

You can make card making a REAL adventure and I love reading those adventures! Thanks for the laughs tonight. But I know it's not so funny when it's happening. Your background is spectacular, Susie! Accident or not, just WOW and kudos for the gold edging. I tried that, I really did. And the pen slips, usually right into white space. beautifully done and love the gold tulips and twine.

The poppy die is one of my favorites and I love the way you used the very fine gold cording with it! BTW: I did what you said. How do I know if it worked?

Susie, Susie, Susie......sorry to hear about the mess...we can all relate. Did any four letter words come out of your mouth? Back to the creation.....it's gorgeous with the vibrant colors and gold. Like the white framing. That Sabrina has a way of getting into our heads...that's a good thing. Thanks for gracing the gallery with your card my friend.

Hope you enjoyed your little lay down and have recovered enough to see this for the beauty it is. I HAD to laugh while reading your tale of woe - sorry! I was also nodding my head about liking the back better than the front - happens to me quite often. Seriously, Susie, this is just gorgeous. Your background really is fabulous!

Wow, Susie!! Your spilled water jar might have seemed like a disaster at the time, and 4 wasted hours is sad, but your cut down panel is GORGEOUS and has gone into my favourites. And those golden poppies are all that's needed to make the most beautifully elegant CAS card.

Oh Miss Susie, I so love this card and am sad to hear you knocked over the water and reinkers but it still turned out amazing. You sure know how to still save a project and still make it work beautifully. Your stories are legendary and I want to read about them just as much as I want to see your stunning cards. Sorry you lost those 4 hours but what a treat you brought to this gallery. Just beautiful!

Ah, Susie, you are always good for a laugh out loud story! Cracked me up over my weetbix this morning! I just love your card, the background is awesome, and the gold tulips are the perfect accessory. Sad the recipient will probably never realise the drama it took to create it!!
