The MIX challenge today is to make a phrase or greeting the focus of the card. My phrase is really the only thing stamped on this card.
Usually, I color first then see if I have paper to match, but I picked the paper first on this one so I could use Copics to go with it. I love open areas on wordsÂ…it gives me a lot of opportunity to change the colors to suit.
After stamping & coloring, I went over the letters with a Wink of Stella pen then over stamped it w/ Versafine. I die cut it..but I had to do a little resizing to make it fit, so the panel is now much longer than the actual die. ItÂ’s backed w/ a vanilla rectangle layer & I added some of the die cut Creepy Wreath on top & bottom. A few bats & a cat from the wreath set were also added.
Thanks so much for looking! Closeups & the inside are on my blog: The Write Stuff

Julie, this is GORGEOUS!!! I love how you've incorporated a wonderful green and a little blue into this halloween card, and especially these colors give it a wonderful, bright feeling. Wonderful die-cuts, love the branches, and that sentiment is wonderful, all you've done with it. Love as well the DP on the base, just the right touch.
I'm really trying to learn more about photographing my cards (I'm definitely a newbie and have little to work with at this point, but I can learn more about composition and do what I can...), and I love the little halloween elements you have included in the photograph. Thank you for teaching me, I appreciate it!!!
As always, a wonderful card, it's in my favorites...

What a cool Halloween card, Julie. It's all about the hocus pocus I do believe. The colors are great and all your finishing touches make this one unique card.
