For MariLynn's MIX143 challenge, to make a phrase or word the focal point of our project. OK, so I have a bird too but it's landing on the word so it's making it the focal point!
I combined it with an earlier HYCCT challenge to use a tag on our cards.
Practically everything was from my desk or scrap box, so I don't know all the details. The base was a brick wall stamped on white card with flourishes all round - it was originally square but had a crooked sentiment which I trimmed off today, then sponged all the edges with brown.
When I was colouring an image with Inktense pencils this morning, I accidentally flicked colour onto it when I was using a wet brush on the lead - so for this I deliberately spattered some colours over it, just to make sure I had plenty of different mediums going on. I also added the script stamp in the top right corner.
The tag piece was done with re-inkers and never got as far as being turned into a bokeh panel, instead I'd embossed it and sponged the raised parts with green.
The HELLO was done by cutting the word from chipboard. I used ModPodge and then when it was tacky, dipped it into some gilding flakes. When it was dry, I burnished it well, rubbed off all the excess and added 3 layers of UTEE.
To finish off I added the bird, sponged with distress inks, and a raffia bow.
And, with the bird from Serendipity being the first time I've used this one of the pair, I'm adding it to their current challenge: What's New.

Sabrina, this is FANTASTIC!!! I love how it all turned out, and sometimes serendipity makes it even better than your original design!!! Annoying in the moment, but I think it shows what a truly outstanding artist can do, as you are!!! I LOVE the texture of leaves on your tag, and the guilding flakes and Utee make that Hello absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I've bought some guilding flakes but have yet to play with them, but I've been excited about their possabilties! Your bird is wonderful, such great coloring, and the whole card is SO wonderfully vintage and distressed, LOVE it!!!
I remember one card I was making, and I'd worked so hard on it. Was just cutting the end of a ribbon, and I cut my finger and got blood on the card--yikes!!! I was too far in, so I cleaned off the drop and then distressed the edges of the card and added some tool brads, and in the end I liked it better. But in that moment--well, not so much!!! I truly love the splatters!
I haven't tried any mixed media yet, not sure it's for me, but if it's like this, then I LOVE it!!! I love what others do with mixed media, just not sure I could do it justice...
This had to go into my favorites, what a wonderful fall card, love it!
Thanks for being so kind and supportive, your comments on my cards ALWAYS mean a great deal to me, Sabrina. Your kind heart always shines through your comments, and they mean so much to me. What an encouragement, especially receiving comments from a wonderful cardmaker like yourself!!!

So beautiful Sabrina! The more I see that EF the more I want it! :-) Your gorgeous autumn colours is making it irresistible. That gilded sentiment really catches the eye but I think it is your birdie that adds the final focus. Boy this is a splendid card!

Exquisite card, Sabrina! I can see why you thought about keeping this beauty, but I'm sure someone at MD Anderson will snap it up and love using it. I appreciate your description of all the steps you took to create this beautiful card! Thanks for playing along in my HYCCT challenge!
