This is my card for Diane's HYCCT1504 challenge. It's an undergoing renovation challenge. She wants us to take a card you have made in the past, and that you like, and make another one that you like just as much...similar, but different and new and exciting.
I made this teacher card for CC548. I needed another one to send to my niece. I know I am really late getting these cards out but she will be surprised when it comes with a little gift card. Better late than never (lol)!!!
So Diane's challenge was perfect timing. I did some renovations on this card and I like how it turned out as well.
I used my MISTI tool for stamping first and then did my die-cutting. For the die-cutting, I cut a pencil from scrap card stock. Then I placed the negative piece over my stamped image and placed my metal die in the negative die cut. It worked fairly seamlessly. The first 2 times around with this set and dies were so frustrating for me.
This PTI set is 2 step stamping at a difficult level without the use of a MISTI tool or a stamp-a-ma-jig. But there are no directions from PTI so I am grateful to my friend, Barbara Joyce, for giving me some very helpful pointers.
On this card I changed my base cardstock color and my layering color. I used similar colors for the pencils. But instead of lining them up in a row I angled them on top of each other.
My teacher word is laid directly on top of the pencils instead of using a flag banner. I cut it 3x in cherry cobbler cardstock for dimension. On the other card, I cut the teacher word in garden green. And I added some die cut stars on this one.
My background is embossed with the Stampin'-Up "alphabet press" folder.

I would never have known the pencils were a pain to create without your story because, this looks so awesome. ( I like the scattered effect of this one so much)

The first card was wonderfully done and you added some great changes on texture and layout to really bring this one to a whole new level. Both cards are so wonderfully done.
