The red layer was cut to serve as a frame for the DAD panel. I stamped the letters on dp, punched out, layered on black, layered on gold stamped with speckles, and then attached with popdots, carefully trying to center it in the opening cut in the red. Why does it seem harder to center in an opening than when just putting onto another layer of paper?
To make the red layer, I cut out the hole first, then stamped the pens and manuscript. To avoid embossing over the pens, I put the paper in the emb. folder, placed it on a hard floor, and tapped over all but the pen area until it was embossed. (Just don't whale on it and break the folder.) I rubbed brick ink on the embossed area to make it stand out a little more.
I was having fun with these colors and thought they would be good for my dad, so now I have a card in reserve for Father's Day!
