This is for Lisa's HYCCT Challenge to share hugs. I had picked up some more distress inks the other day and wanted to try out the new to me colors. I smooshed them onto a piece of acetate and then spritzed with water. I laid my recycled tag into the ink and dried with my heat gun before going back and picking up more ink. I used this as a base for a collage. I also found a bag of these cork birdcages when I was shopping. I smreared Inka Gold along the cage. I wanted an uncaged bird so I diecut a couple in the dp and Espresso then cut out a breast of the dp. I cut a scrap piece into a wing and added marker details. I had the tag and sunflower on my desk (the sunflower is a solid flower with petals snipped in and layered with another-it has a rosette center with added marker accents. I threw the frond in there for another splash of color. At the last minute I decided to add the burlap ric rac. Everything is popped over a dp base that I spattered by flicking a metallic marker. I also sponged the edges of my tag and dp.

Gail, the base of your card stock with the added sponged edges and on the tag too is so wonderful. They really pop with the added color. I love the added distress colors you picked up and put on your tag and the added collage pieces all work so perfectly together. Super stunning card! The sentiment of Hugs - For You is so wonderfully done too. Thank you so much for doing a card for my "HUGS" challenge and sending a hug to these special families.

How sweet, Gail! I'm glad the bird is out of its cage, free to fly wherever it pleases to go. Beautiful gold on the cage and you've given your tags a nice vintage feel!
