Can you believe it's three months until Christmas? This is probably my third or fourth card. So I guess I need to get moving. This is the newest remixed digi from Power Poppy, and I just love the vintage feel to this image. I remember having glass ornaments like this, and they had beautiful shiny finishes. My mom took great care in unwrapping them each year and placing them on the tree (and then carefully repacking them for the next year). And how delighted we were when the lights were turned on and the ornaments glistened in the light!
My card is a simple one, and I used a stitched rectangle die for my focal image and matted it and the DP with Cherry Cobbler. I added some red twine to the DP base, and then I popped my focal image. And I finally used some sequins on my card - the first time for me - yay! And my DH suggested I use some glitter on the tree bough. Well, I pulled out some Martha Stewart glitter, and what a mess! It's so fine and just goes everywhere. I think I shall be cleaning up glitter the rest of the year. And I actually ended up using some Stickles instead. But it was fun, and I hope you like it.
Thanks for taking a closer look, and I hope you have a great weekend. Stop by my blog for more details. Hugs!

Beautiful card Cheryl! You really captured the look of those gorgeous glass ornaments with this Santa. That glitter is a pain but so worth it! Whoever gets this will be thrilled!

Your story sounds like mine when I was a child. In those days, we used to keep our ornaments year after year. Each year, as you mentioned, they were carefully wrapped for next year's tree. I love the vintage feel of your card right down to the dsp that's reminiscent of yesteryear as well. Your sponging is exquisite and of course you're coloring is wonderfully magnificent. You certainly are blessed. It's wonderful that you share your talents with so many of us here on SCS and in your life. God loves you and so do I. Hugs and love, Anne

Cheryl, my friend, I love your card and that wonderful ornament. I think I may have one like it. What sweet memories of your mom and her decorations. I do that same thing...so careful to wrap my ornaments and store. I really like the branch it hangs on and the sparkle is great. Hubby had a good idea even if glitter was getting everywhere and you switched. Maybe he can clean it up all year for you. Ha

DH seems to have picked up some of your amazing design talent...the glitter on the branch looks great. You did a wonderful job coloring that sweet Santa ornament, and the sponging around the main image is perfection. The sequins are just the right addition. Lovely card, Cheryl. Into my favs.

Oh my Cheryl, this is so beautiful ... I just love the traditional Christmas colours and your story is very familiar. To this day I do the same thing having had my ornaments for a very long time, and I have one just like this. Wonderful card mf, tfs.

Just beautiful and full of long ago memories for me too. Lots of precious ornaments - taken out and hung on the tree and wrapped in tissue paper and packed away till next year - sure beats all the high tech lighting and gaudy shows that pass for Christmas trees now. Just love this delightful vintage image.
