This is for Robin's fun Free for All challenge - Celebrate Newsprint. Check out all the details here .
The double sided background paper has newsprint on one side and letters the other. I put the brand strip in a safe place, as soon as I find the safe place, I shall let you know.
Here we have two reporters from the Split Coast Times lurking in a laneway waiting for their unnamed source. Rumor has it that 'knock-off' boots, hats and bags are about to hit the street. Clarke is wearing knock-off Dylusion combat boots and Lois is wearing knock-off Unitys.
About the making...I found two little hats on a sheet of dp, placed acetate over the top, traced them with a Sharpie and made a template. The combat boots were made the same way. Lois's snazzy ankle boots started out life as a Unity stamp (complete with curled toe and patterned legs), I cut off the toes, legs and modified the heels.
Clarke's glasses were a RAK from Sabrina (I loved them and of course had to buy them too), his legs were made by cutting strips of black cardstock, adding stripes and spots, then adhering to the card. Lois's legs are handdrawn directly onto the background paper.
Thank you for looking, I hope you join in the fun too.
Hint: When you make little templates of boots, hats and so on, pop them in the bag with the stamps, before you know it you will have a collection to rival Timmy!!

Tim Holtz really needs to hire you as a designer...or better yet, you are talented enough to have your own company. The details on your birds are fantastic. Imelda Marcos would be jealous of the wonderful footwear your birds have. Right into my favs.
