I could just see this old water pump along a path or roadway. I wanted to make it look like it was at the bottom of a hill and travelers could stop there for a drink. I know it should really be in a yard somewhere but.....I like the path idea too.
I masked the sentiment with post-it to ink stamp and then removed it before placing image on paper. I sketched all the trees with an artist pen, graduating them smaller and smaller as they went back up the road. I wanted the trees to be as significant in the scene as the pump image instead of just fillers. I put a very watery layer of caramel down for the road way, let it dry and then layered watery olive over the grassy area. I painted all the tree trunks in with caramel and close to cocoa. I stamped all the leaves in and then filled in the branches lightly with close to cocoa, just dotting areas in lines to look like leaf covered branches. I sketched in growth around all the trees and then painted the main image. I used a dry scruffy brush dipped in fairly dry reinker to add depth to the grassy areas and road. I then used the scruffy brush and used Ranger Tea Dyed ink to age the picture.

This is so pretty. I think I have this stamp coming from ebay, not sure. You've done a wonderful job. I've also got an english cottage coming. This would look very pretty with the english cottage.
