Thursday's challenge was really fun. I think I could make 100 cards for tea! i am a total tea-aloholic! However, this is labeled "elegant tea," and trust me when I say there is nothing elegant about me! My tea cup sits all day, gets nasty little lines in it, and isn't near this pretty! ... and I am usually in whatever slouchy clothes I put on to clean house. I guess I can always pretend elegance through my cards! ;)
As far as the making of this card goes... I embossed the swirl frame (can't see the frame part). Then I embossed the die cut with the teacup and layered it over top. I punched out a border to be like a lace table cloth and laid beneath the teacup. Then I embossed another teacup, fussy cut it out and laid it over top the first one. I went over it a little with water color pencils for a hint of color. That was my son's idea and I think it was a good one. Then a made the rolled roses with a hint of pink from the water color pencils and put them on with glue dots. I made the bow using the fork method. I also used ribbon (obviously) across the top of my table. I die cut some swirly leaves, cut them the way I wanted them and glued them down. Last but certainly not least I added plenty of white liquid pearls!
Thanks for looking!

This is just stunning. The hint of pastel colors is so elegant...I can see Queen Elizabeth sipping from this. The white on white turned out very well and the embossing is perfect. Lovely card.

Elegant is the PERFECT word for your tea card!! Lots of interesting detail with the die cuts & embossing! Also love the soft subtle colors you used as tea to me is very relaxing. I had to laugh out loud literally reading your post. I think all of us stampers have some of those slouchy days...I feel more creative in sweats & tattered tees. My mindset is that I can't ruin them if I get ink on them...haha!!

This is beautiful!! I love all the die cuts and embossing and your son has a good eye..the pastel highlights are perfect! Is he a card maker too??? I like tea, too and sometimes I kind of like to make it a ceremony...make it special. I got some really wonderful tea in Chinatown in SanFran..and they had a very cool way of doing it. Sort of fun...
