This is for Wendy's fun Free for All challenge - to make a birthday card you would make for your self.
Even though I turned 60 a couple of months ago, I still don't feel a "grown up". I still believe in fairies and dream about magic forests and learning to ride a bike properly (I'm half way there I can ride in a straight line, but I can't negatiate corners ...yet). I'm glad that "growing up" is optional!!
About the card, I poured a gallon of Crayola school glue over some areas of the cardstock, smeared it around with my fingers.
Allow to dry overnight (I started this when the challenge went live last night my time - it is now lunchtime Saturday).
Now using the Smack & Squirt technique, scrub lots of watery distress ink over the card (several orange shades and green). To get lots of shimmer sprinkle on some glitter, then wipe a lot of it off.
Stamp background. Colour fairy with pencils, fussy cut and position on bike. The bike is held in place by using the brads on the wheels. Doodle border then adhere the panel to cream card base.
Thank you for looking.

Oh on your way to Wisconsin could you stop in Chicago and show me too? Wait, I will drive to Wisconsin and learn from both you and Ann!!! This is fantastic Miss Susie. I am always in awe of your stunning BGs. Oh to see you do them in person must be fantastic. Tell you what when you visit Ann in Wisconsin, I can show you how to finish riding that bike. Big hugs!

Truly incredible, Susie.....from your creative bg to the delicately colored fairy image, it is totally magical. Don't expect a card like this from anyone else.....only YOU can create these wonderful cards!

Wow, that school glue makes an awesome bg...and not an accident in sight. White glue rates right up there with playing with matches in my book. The bg colors look lovely with your colored fairy, and what a great idea to put her on the bike. I have a bribe to lure you to Southern Calif... I live 20 minutes from Disneyland.

Wow, I've never achieved anything this beautiful with glue resist Susie, I am well impressed. I love the sense of scale in this one; sometimes I think your fairies are lifesize, but down among the wildflowers this one is obviously small...and maybe, if she feels the need to cycle, she has a problem with her wings?? Although they look perfectly beautiful and well-sized, no dreaming of a wing-job here. The whimsy of the idea made me smile.

BEAUTIFUL b.d. card you have made for yourself! It truly magical and a one-of-a-kind Susie card. I'm glad growing up is optional, too. Hee. I haven't heard of smearing glue on the card. I would think it would "resist" the ink, therefore in those areas there would be NO color? Your card has color all over it. Maybe it just gives areas of lighter color and/or adds a bit of texture or dimension? Hmmm. Let me know on that, will you? xx

Love the colours, combination of the images and your narrative to explain it all. If you could develop wings riding round corners would become a bit boring and unnecessary.

Ah, sis, what a magical card indeed! Yes, you are magic and make magic with your cards to delight us all. You must certainly know how much you are loved along with your work. I get great joy reading your descriptions, and this is so sweet. You are a fairy, and one day you will navigate corners! Hehe! Love you, sis! (And I still can't believe you turned 60! You are my younger sis!)
