Today's WT challenge is to theme our cards to our favorite season.
Hands down, mine is spring when everything is fresh and new. I went a step further and depicted my favorite place to go in the spring.....Missouri Botanical Garden's Japanese Garden, Seiwa-en. It is glorious with blooming cherry trees, plum trees, azaleas, and peonies...all against that "new-growth green"....and reflected on the water of the lake. Tried to capture it in my watercolor.

Added note: I can see where the die cuts can be interpreted as "vines"......although I was trying to give the feeling of weeping willow branches that are on one side of the lake and frame one's view. Guess I wasn't too successful. : )

Beautiful, Sallie, and an awesome job with the watercoloring. I love your hanging vines, also.

Just popped in to SCS and what did I see? A 'knock me over and blow my mind' card! Sallie, this is beautiful. Jumped right off the homepage and left me gasping. Wow!

Sallie, you captured the beautiful garden in this glorious water coloring. The framing of the cards with the die cut vines adds a fantastic touch. Thanks for sharing this beautiful card.

This reminds me of the famous Monet painting as well. What a gorgeous watercolor Sallie!! You captured spring nicely, and I bet you enjoyed thinking about one of your favorite spots as you did so.

Oh, Sallie! Wow! This did just pop out of the gallery!! It's gorgeous and such a beautiful rendering of this amazing botanical garden. And reading your "note" helps, because now I see and understand that these are weeping willows. I can easily imagine the artist (you) sitting under a weeping willow with your palette and coloring under one of them! It's exquisite, and you continue to delight us with your artistry, my friend! Hugs! (P. S. You certainly need to frame this one, and Marcella Hawley would love to see it living near this garden and visiting it often.)

OH my friend you captured it beautifully....they both just look similar. what a beautiful scene, I bet your visiting place must be incredible too. I love Japanese gardens, so detail and precision and beauty...just like here. Super neat with the branches hanging overhead, makes it like a secret garden....TFS..:0)
