I created this wall hanging on Bo Bunny paper that I bought last year (I don't remember the name of it). It's heavy on distressing & inking. I used a sponge to white wash some of the background and then 'second generation' stamped some sentiments & floral images over it using the stamp set 'Venezia Correspondence' by Stampington & Company, once the paper dried I took the same sponge and added some Tattered Angels Mist Spray in a swirling motion so it has a rolling cloud effect. I distressed the edges of the wall hanging and inked with Tim Holtz - Distress Ink - Vintage Photo first, then Chipped Sapphire, Walnut Stain and lastly a light brush of Black Soot (for the rest of the items I used all but the Vintage Photo Distress Inks). I sketched out the hot air balloon on my Bo Bunny paper and cut it out in stripes. I sketched the clouds & birds on plain white cardstock and then distressed the edges and inked them heavily. I stamped the clouds & birds with Stampin Up's French Script stamp, used 3D pop dots and bent the sentiment up a little to give it a 3D effect. I inked the fabric with my Prima - Color Bloom Spray. I then highlighted with white gesso here and there, and finally, the brads came in a gift box from my amazing sister. This is my first completed craft project! I hope you like it!

This is so lovely! I love your colour palette and great shabby chic look, and especially like your script clouds.
p.s, since we have a gallery especially for wall hangings, I've moved it over into that gallery.

Thank you so much for the compliments and for placing it in the correct category. I've been so sleep deprived the last couple of days that I completely missed that one when posting :O)

Thank you so much Cheryl! I was telling a co-worker this morning how lovely & supportive the crafting world is to each other and 5 minutes later I checked my email and seen your beautiful comments so I read them to her and she agreed with my earlier observations lol! I am looking forward to adding to my gallery and taking part in some of the challenges on here. I can't believe it took me several years to find the courage to join all you lovely gals!!!

Wow, wow, wow!!! This is absolutely fabulous. You are going to love the Friday mixed media challenges. Thank you for your very detailed description, I loved reading your process (and learning too). Everything about this little wall hanging makes me smile! P.s. I have been a Splitcoastie for several years and I didn't know there was a special wall hanging category LOL. Lastly, welcome to SCS.
