Today for IC508 inspiration, Audrie took us to the fabby Horchow's webstore. She's right--hide your credit card! Wonderful, beautiful products and lots of inspiration for cardmakers. The colors of my birds were inspired by these bright cocktail napkins. I made the card for this week's MMTPT369 Teapotter Tickle challenge. The theme is Cleopatra. These brightly colored birds, complete with their gold head pieces may have silly expressions but they can certainly sing you a smile! I hope the Teapotter who receives my card in the exchange will like it.
As well, I am adding my card to the following challenges:
PTI right side opening A2 black base.
Tore paper bag, stamped SU world map in aged mahogany Distress ink, dried it with heat gun, crinkled it up, smoothed it out, inked edges-direct pad to paper, attached to card.
Tore white paper, stamped with Hero Arts newsprint stamp in SU slate gray, inked edges. Stamped misc Met Museum of Art Hieroglyphs on it and attached to card.
Die cut Sizzix branch from cereal box, PTI wreath (used pc of it across top) from MFT cork, Sizzix palm leaves. Distressed branch and cork, inked over embossed vein and distressed edges of palm leaves. Added leaves to card.
Stamped Stampotique Birdy Up in Versafine black. Added "Cleo" hair with black fine point Sharpie. Colored with DerWent Inktense watercolor pencils and blended with SU blender pen. Colored head pieces with gold Sharpie. Fussy cut each one.
Positioned branch and birds on card, glued branch down and attached birds with SU dimensionals. Glued down feet to branch (they are fragile and easily rip off.)
Added Wink of Stella clear glitter ink to bird wings and head pieces, cork and palm leaves.
This was a FUN card to make!
Thanks for looking!

You had a hieroglyphic stamp! Gabby, I am so impressed. Obviously those birds are the show-stealers with their classy black hairstyles and fancy gold headdresses, but I still spotted the hieroglyphics next. And even though you said world map, I had to go visually hunting for it. All that fussy-cutting looks amazing. Who wouldn't be tickled pink (and gold) to receive this.
I'll put your name in the spreadsheet tomorrow, yes?!
