This is my sample card for this week's sketch challenge featuring this pretty sketch from Ally. I saw this lovely card the other day and I was inspired to pull out an old set to make a card for my mom. She's not bounced back from the tiredness of our reunion trip and has been struggling.
I've flipped the sketch upside down for this one. I stamped my daisies in Perfect Plum full strength and stamped off. I sponged along the edges. I crumpled my corner by mistake so I decided to crumple the whole image panel. I added the bottom piece and dry embossed and sponged it. I put this onto a plum base and added the velvet ribbon across the join. I decided I wanted some more of the Teal so I took and Indigo base and cut down the plum piece and adhered it to the base (wish I'd done this before the ribbon as now my ribbon looks short). For my sentiment pieces I punched Pale Plum and used stamped off Perfect Plum for the bg and full strength Plum for the sentiment and to sponge the edges. These are popped over the ribbon.

Beautiful card to lift your Mom's spirits, Gail. Sorry to hear she has not bounced back from all the festivities. Lovely color combo to go with that "oldie, but goodie" SU image.

I am in love with this card Gail! I love the beautiful jewel tones you used and the embossing of the striped paper is brilliant! WTG! Thanks for another spectacular card sketch example!
