The challenge is Everything Old is New. At first this was hard for me to come up with. But then this is what I went with.
First, flower stamps are a dime a dozen. While none are exactly the same, and you can't have too many, it is easy to come up with a card using flowers. I stamped this in Jet Black Stazon on Shimmer White cardstock before coloring and cutting out (adhered with dimensionals).
Second, I chose a couple colors I find similar to recently retired ones. First, Watermelon Wonder. I don't think it's exact, I LOVE this color, but it is very similar to the recently retired Strawberry Slush. Both are fresh and light. Second, Cucumber Crush which reminds me of a lighter version of my beloved Gumball Green (one of the few colors I really loved). These two colors are great together, of course! Colored with an aqua brush using the ink pads for ink.
Third, I LOVE black and white anything! I have a lot of it, particularly I have a thing for Black and White dsp. This is SU!'s recent B/W paper, which I think is fabulous!
Also, as an afterthought, I used the stretchy silver cord, which is quite old...SU! recently released silver thread, which I will probably use a lot of. The thin metallic threads or cord are great for a subtle touch!
I embossed in white directly onto the DSP the crosshatch image, which turned out great, imo. The sentiment is stamped in Stazon on Vellum, which I punched out using the Decorative Label punch. I wanted it to be slightly more subtle.
Super fun challenge, I'm super happy with the results today! Thanks for the inspiration!

Lovely! I agree with you about flower stamps...there is always room for more in my collection! And I used the same two color substitutions a while back for a color challenge. Us In Colors often remind me of colors that came before.

I love it! You did well with the old & new. I picked up on the black & white paper right away. I have PLENTY in my stash from the past! Love your beautiful flower.
This is a wonderful card. I so appreciate the details you give in your uploads for how you make the cards you post...Thank YOU! I especially like on this card how you embossed in white directly onto the DSP the crosshatch image. TFS! :-)
