WooHoo it is Tickle a Teapotter time and Gabby aka gabalot has written a terrific story and set a great challenge for us to bring a stamped character to life, in memory of Beatrix Potter. Here is my "once upon a time" story.
Plucka Duck lived and worked at the Downtown Abby Feather, Duck and Down factory. Every morning as the sun came up, Plucka and his pals would waddle up the hill, quack amongst themselves and happily wait to have their feathers plucked.
Downtown Abbey Feather, Duck and Down factory produces the finest doona's, quilts and comforters in the world. Many of Plucka's relatives have feathers in a Downtown Abbey quilt.
Plucka's great-great aunt Jemima was at Downtown until she wrote her first adventure novel in collaboration with Beatrix Potter. Around the same time, Jemima's twin brother set sail for China and promptly changed his name to Peking, where upon he met and married Crispy Skin. Together Peking Duck and Crispy Skin Duck had 5 little ducks.
Plucka has not seen his uncle Donald or his neighbours boy, Daffy, since they both moved to Hollywood. He misses them dearly, but most of all, Plucka Duck misses his big brother Fatty.
Fatty and an old family friend Heston Blumenthal, own a famed Michelin 3-star restaurant in Britain. Apparently the Fat Duck has a 12 month waiting list!!!
Plucka is immensely proud of his family, as they are of him. Plucka co-founded the ride share business, Uber Duck. All proceeds from Uber Duck go to providing shelter for all the wild ducks around the world.
What a wonderful duck. The End.
Now, about this stair step card. The Uber Duck and his passengers started out life as a Sassy Cheryl digi image, they were coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils. The background was done with Distress Inks
I hope this uploads properly from my iPad. DH and I are away camping, but I didn't want to miss Gabby's fun challenge and tickling a Teapotter. Thank you for looking.

Grinning- How fun is this? Love the story that goes with your charming card. That rickety fence is fantastic and I think you are the first and only person I ever knew who crafted while camping! This is great, Susie!
What a fun story!!! I love all the white dots and great shading! As Nancy says, fantastic fence!!! Have fun camping!! Steve has three days coming up and we are tossing around ideas including an overnight camping trip. Enjoy!

I'll be back to comment at more length when I have the computer on, but I'm going in to work with a big grin on my face. Love all your references, especially crispy duck (one of DH's favourites) and The Fat Duck. I have one of his 'coffee table' books but I've never yet cooked from it. However, one of the guys in work makes his Black Forest Gateau about once a year...

You have out done Ms. Potter with your story telling ability, Susie. I think I like your characters better, too. I love your step cards, and this one is sensational. There is nothing I like better than white dots, and you used tons of them. Wonderful rich colors and such a cute scene.

Another fabulously funny card from our own dear sweet Susie! I love it! Love your story, and the stair step design. The background is coloured so beautifully and that duck and passenger image is 'da bomb'!

Dear Susie, cannot believe your "yarn-spinning" abilities - the characters in your story alone, have me chuckling as I read your post - Downtown Abbey Feather, Duck and Down Factory sounds like such a fun place to be!!
Love how Uber Duck has a flying service for the SC characters, lucky enough to hitch a ride with him, though they better hang on tight, since he looks like he needs quite a running start to get off the ground!! Your coloring is great as always, and I love the BG you created for this lovely tale of Ducks!! You Rock!!
