Our colors this week are Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry and Tempting Turquoise and desert = birthday:
On my card front I sponged ink through a grid stencil, and then die cut the top panel with a stitched die. Then made a frame for my focal image by cutting another smaller rectangle from the panel. Die cut the balloons, embossed the stars in silver, sponged the balloons and spritzed with shimmer mist for some sparkle, then mounted on frame with die cut strings. Die cut the happy, colored w/ markers, and then covered with glossy accents for a nice shine and more depth. Stamped the “birthday to you” on the frame, and mounted the frame on the card front with dimensionals - giving a great shadow box effect. To mount the happy I die cut several layers and glued together, but cut off the part that would be overlapping the frame and this made it level with the rest of the card. Added the enamel dots and done.

Absolutely adorable. I love how you worked on the "happy" to get it to lay flat. Love the shiny accents, the enamel dots and those cute balloons. Really sweet card!

Fantastic card! I love how fun and how neat it's done! The background and bright balloons go so well together! I find this window type card so hard to do, especially working with a die cut sentiment partially in the window. Yours is perfect! LOVE this card!

Fabby card! LOVE how you used the colors and that awesome grid. Great job on the cut out, too. I have a terrible time getting that spaced evenly and straight ... even with tape. Hee.

You've used the challenge colours perfectly with this fantastic birthday card Maura. LOVE the stenciled grid background. And love the embossed and shiny silver stars on the balloons. Thanks for playing along at Happy Little Stampers. xx
