This is my sample card for today's sketch challenge. Our sketch today come from Ally and boy is her card cute!!! I chose to flip the sketch and tried a fun technique I found while scrolling on Pinterest. Here's . When I saw the video I thought right away of using this to make an anniversary card for my DD and her DH. I made her invites using the Medallion stamp and with Elegant Eggplant cs. I used Seedless Preserves Distress Ink as the video recommended Distress ink for the best reaction to the water. I covered my whole piece of watercolor paper directly with the Distress Ink (took a while with my small spot!). I then spritzed my Medallion liberally with water and then pressed down firmly onto the dried paper and ink. I carefully pulled off my bg stamp and there was the pretty faded look. I used my heat gun to dry it completely. I used Blackberry and Wisteria markers to add back in a little detail. I then added some water spatter and dried that; then spattered on some silver by firmly shaking my Stampin' Dazzle marker over the piece. I stamped my sentiments in Versamark then embossed in silver. For my base layer, I stamped a bg of French Script and then tore the edges. I decided I wanted a frame of Blackberry so I tore strips from a piece and laid them around my piece. I took a piece of grey dp (I'd used some of this dp on the banner I made for her reception) and used a piece of lace that she'd had tied around a mason jar at the reception to layer over this. She also had some mason jars with pieces from a book and I took a page from the same book to make my layered flowers. I edged them in Blackberry using my marker. I used two larger Hydrangea punched flowers but tore the petals off and glued onto a small circle of paper to create the larger flower. I added a smaller punched flower to the center and finished with a rhinestone in each. I stamped my flourish in Seedless Preserves over Plum and added in some leaves in silver and Blackberry.

That's a pretty cool technique, Gail! Love the silver matting against the blackberry! Sounds like you put a lot of thought into creating this card for your daughter and her hubby, and I'm sure it will be appreciated~
