Out of 7 cards that I make, one is planned and 6 are accidents, so the MIX 126 was perfect. First, I will point out that tgere are stripes here, so this really does count for the WT 537. The bird silhouettes are obvious, but I used the edges that I trimmed off the main panel to make 3 vertical and 3 horizontal stripes along the edges. As I mentioned, I have been packing up and trying to sell my sister's stuff since she is moving into an assisted living place. This was not exactly planned, and she was a hoarder, so it is one huge job. Luckily, some of thecstuff she bought and never used was art stuff.... she said to keep whatever I wanted. I don't have a craft room, so I really cannot keep too much. I did keep 5 mysterious bottles of "watercolor wash" by sargent arts... I have never heard of it, and there were no directions on the bottle. I was just testing out the colors and dropped some puddles of different colors on a 9x12 piece of heavy weight watercolor paper. Since I like intense colors I let it sit and tilted the paper around to let the colors run. This was my "what if" part of the card. Finally, I blended the colors into the white areas of the paper. Any time I have water soluble mediums, I always splatter it with water which is one of my fav looks. The WT challenge really gave my the ideas for the rest of the card. TFL, Francie

OMG, this is fabulous! I love the background - a wonderful 'what if', but the silhouettes look amazing! I love the way you used additional parts of the tree and added the stripes. This is awesome!

Love this Francie, wow, what a gorgeous bg! I tried a little white pen on my MIX today but just can't quite get it like you do! Love the birds flying overhead!

I won't be around on Sunday for the favourites thread, but I have popped this into my favourites straight away, it's stunning. I feel as if those birds are flying straight out at me, like the swallows in the village square when I walked to the post office this evening.

Francie, it's not just your backgrounds that are phenomenal, but what you DO with them! Your signature work with white gel is fabulous, adding the perfect highlights. This one is another work of art that should be framed!

What a stunning use of colours in that incredible background. The addition of the silhouettes is just perfect. I do like the way you highlighted the birds and tree with white.
