I stamped this in my MISTI with my smaller piece stuck in place with a temporary glue dot while stamping. I then removed my piece and stamped again to lose my "gap" around the rectangle where my smaller piece had been. I could have laid this down without the framing, but wanted the look of the popping so I added the black framing. You could totally do this without that step and you could get the spotlight without stamping this way, I just found it simpler to have the spotlight piece in place before stamping. I scribbled my markers on acetate and then colored the butterfly. I made this yesterday before the colors posted, but what I used is so close that I'm adding this to the color challenge. I added some shading around the edge of my butterfly (I stared with Smoky Slate then added some Soft Sky and finally went with what I usually do which is Sahara Sand). I added some shimmer with Frost White shimmer paint. I lost a little definition with this, so went back with an Eggplant marker to added detail back in. I got a blob of spatter on my card so ended up spattering the whole thing with watered down shimmer paint. Much more shimmer IRL. More photos on my blog post.
This is my sample for this week's sketch challenge featuring this fun sketch from Ali

oh wow, this is so gorgeous... the colouring on your beautiful butterfly is outstanding... love how you stamped just the body and raised it up and then added the silver cord under it... genius... love it...
