I guess I tend to gravitate toward birds, and nature in general. When I was very young (back in the 40's)my mother used to take me for long walks in the summer when we were at our lake cottage. I realized after I had children of my own that this served two purposes...to teach me about the nature she loved so much and probably basically to wear me out so I'd take a long nap (after all, it was her vacation too). She would acquaint me with all the birds we either saw or heard (every time I hear the trill of a red-winged blackbird I think back to those times) and we'd pick wildflowers to bring back to my grandmother as we strolled down all the back roads and sometimes off the beaten path. During one of those off the beaten path excursions I saw my first white heron very close up. It was beautiful! We would sneak up on things a lot. That trait helped me while we were raising our children. I did try to enhance their appreciation of nature though too.

Just loved reading about your childhood nature walks with your Mother .... this is a lovely card creation, too!

Ah ha, I see Asian all over this card, my friend. We both fell in love with MB bamboo, didn't we? I've not used it w/gold mirror, but it's really stunning. Of all the bamboo dies out there, I really think this is the most elegant. Stunning card. Wonderful memories you've shared with us. It's always nice to learn a little bit about stampers you've connected with.
